The initially web site was developed in August 1991 by Tim Berners-Lee at CERN,
a European nuclear analysis company. Paul Kunz from
SLAC visited Tim Berners-Lee at CERN in September 1991.
He was amazed by the WWW task and introduced
a copy of the software program back again to Stanford.
Peter Flynn from University College Cork (UCC) saw Tim Berners-Lee demonstrating the WWW at a Rare WG3
conference. The former then requested the latter to put in the software at UCC for the CURIA project.
